KEEPING OUR POOLS SAFE & SPARKLING 💦

A few simple steps help protect every swimmer, keep lessons running and make the pool enjoyable for everyone.

👟 SHOES OFF

At Chessington and Bagshot, please remove outdoor shoes at the entrance and place them on the shoe racks provided. Shoes do not need to be removed at Dorking.

🚻 TOILET FIRST

Please take children to the toilet before entering the pool.

🚿 CHESSINGTON ONLY — SHOWER WITH SOAP

At Chessington, every swimmer must shower thoroughly with soap immediately before swimming.

No pre-swim shower is required at Bagshot or Dorking.

🩲 TWO-LAYER SWIM NAPPY

Every child who is not fully toilet trained must wear both:

• a disposable or washable swim nappy next to the skin; and

• a snug reusable neoprene over-nappy, such as a Happy Nappy.

Children cannot enter the water without both layers. Please change nappies only in the designated changing area—not beside the pool—and take used nappies home.

🤢 PLEASE STAY HOME IF UNWELL

After vomiting or diarrhoea, wait at least 48 hours after all symptoms have stopped before returning.

🦠 CRYPTOSPORIDIUM

If diagnosed with Cryptosporidium, do not swim until at least 14 days after symptoms have stopped.

💧 WHILE YOU ARE WITH US

• Avoid swallowing pool water.

• Tell a teacher immediately about any toilet or nappy accident.

• Follow all instructions from teachers and pool staff.

• Keep changing areas tidy and supervise children at all times.

• Bring drinking water only in a non-glass bottle.

• No food, chewing gum or glass poolside.

• No running, diving or bombing unless directed as part of a lesson.

WHY IT MATTERS 💙

We all share the water. Chlorine and filtration manage most germs, but some organisms—particularly Cryptosporidium—can survive in treated water for several days. Good hygiene, correct swim nappies and the illness exclusion periods protect swimmers, staff and lessons.

If a hygiene incident or another matter outside our control closes a pool, we will contact affected customers about the arrangements available under the current booking terms.
